In response to the challenges of remote work, I came up with a fun and unique idea to bring our team closer together during Halloween. The game's magic happened with the help of websockets, a behind-the-scenes tool that made our interactions feel real and immediate. The Halloween Team Event Game wasn't just about playing games; it was about creating a memorable and joyful experience for our team. By combining avatars, easy-to-use games, and a simple admin setup, the project showed how technology could bring us closer, even when we're miles apart.
With many of us joining the team during the pandemic, I wanted to create something special for our Halloween get-together. The goal was simple: strengthen our connections and add a bit of laughter to our virtual meeting. I took on the role of both the creator and organizer, ensuring the entire experience was designed to be engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
Fun features:
Personal Avatars: Each team member got to create their own avatar, adding a personal touch to the game. Interactive Games: We played two mini-games. The first was a quick-fire game similar to "Never Have I Ever," bringing out lots of laughs and surprising moments. The second game had us matching colleagues to inspiring or funny statements, helping us discover shared interests. Admin Panel: I included a simple admin panel to make managing the game smooth, ensuring everything flowed seamlessly during our virtual event. Live Interaction: The game used a cool feature called websockets, making our interactions live and spontaneous.
